IRF to hold career fair for road industry students and companies

For Immediate Release: October 6, 2008

The International Road Federation – WPC (IRF-WPC) announced the inaugural Road Scholar Career Fair will be held January 14, 2009 at the Mayflower Hotel in Washington, DC.

For IRF member organizations, this program will allow access to students attending IRF universities who have been hand-selected by their professors to attend the career fair. During the event, companies and organizations will have the opportunity to meet these bright and up-and-coming students, review resumes and even conduct one-on-one interviews with promising candidates.

Students at IRF universities will equally benefit from this program by meeting face-to-face with executives and recruiters from some of the road industry’s top firms. These companies will be searching to fill positions in the United States and abroad. The program is open to U.S. and international students at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

Patrick Sankey, CEO & Director General, IRF-WPC, said this is an opportunity not only for students and IRF organizations, but to help the road industry.

“The IRF Road Scholar Program is yet another means IRF is using to help progress the road industry,” said Sankey. “By having the professors select the students, the IRF will help place qualified professionals in positions where they will be able to have a positive impact on road development.”

This event is free for all Road Scholars and IRF members. For employers, a complimentary table-top booth and chairs will be provided.

Full details and registration forms can be found at the Road Scholar Career Fair web page.
