Delegations from 17 Countries Already Registered for IRF’s New Pavement Seminar

For Immediate Release: June 8, 2009

Registrants from 17 different countries have already registered for IRF's new seminar - Preserving our Highway Infrastructure Assets, being held August 4-7, 2009 in Orlando, Fla.

IRF’s seminar will focus on such key issues such as the role of new materials and technologies for pavement preservation, new funding strategies and contracting models to sustain pavement preservation, and latest tools to better managing pavement networks.

"The maintenance and rehabilitation of road infrastructure demands a great investment of time and money," said Carlos Chang, technical coordinator for the seminar. "And with limited funds available right now, this poses a complex challenge. A multidisciplinary coordinated effort is needed to address these issues and that is what this seminar aims to do."

The seminar program includes presentations from 16 international pavement experts, offering a seminar that will provide attendees with a comprehensive view on pavement preservation models and strategies. Read presenters' bios.

As advocates of a proactive vision for affordable, safer, and environmentally friendly pavements, the International Road Federation (IRF) is also supporting an international task force to coordinate efforts and foster collaboration among experts. The inaugural meeting will be held at this upcoming seminar.
