Information Interchange

Before you spend hours researching for answers, ASK IRF FIRST!

A new service from the International Road Federation, Information Interchange provides IRF members the means to capitalize on the IRF's network, which reaches nearly 120 countries around the world.

Understanding the marketplace is the first step to success in business and crucial to this understanding is good market research. Information Interchange utilizes the power of the IRF network of road industry experts to assist members in finding solutions to their problems and answers for their questions. An IRF member simply submits their road-related inquiry to IRF, the staff reviews the request and will either send the request to specific individuals or broadcast it to the thousands of contacts in the IRF network. The requesting member's information is always kept confidential to maintain privacy from unwanted solicitations.

Information Interchange has already helped several IRF members with a variety of questions, such as:

  • What are some of the types of new tunnel lighting being used in a tunnel in Norway
  • Disaster mitigation relief needs in certain countries
  • The use of reflective materials to makes a camel's presence on a highway more visible
  • Help in understanding of how roadside signs could possibly distract drivers
  • Even to check the availability of rooms for TRB in Washington

“Both the highway department and myself are impressed with the response from the IRF Information Interchange. We have received more than enough information to respond to the director. Thanks, this is a great system.”
