Union Routiere de France (URF)
The French Road Federation (URF, or Union Routière de France) was founded in 1935. It is a federation of organisations representing vehicle and road users and those professions whose business are concerned with building and managing roads and motorways, manufacturing vehicles, road transport, traffic management and road safety.
One of its functions is to collect and publish information relating to transport, with the main aims of highlighting the part played in the French economy by the automobile, by road transport and by roads and motorways in general, and helping to improve both the operation and the safety of France’s network of roads and mororways.
