SHIBH AL-JAZIRA CONTRACTING COMPANY LTD. is a 100% Saudi entrepreneurial business organization, which has gained its expertise through continued service since 1963. The organization has accumulated extensive experience in different fields of construction and maintenance of Heavy Civil Engineering and infrastructure projects, as well as in industrial, trade and commercial activities.
Company head office is located in Riyadh, with branch offices in Jeddah, Al-Khobar, Al-Madina Al-Munawarah, Qasseem and Abha areas. The Company also retains offices, branches and representatives in different parts of Europe, the Middle East and North Africa.
The Company's manpower is basically from Saudi Arabia, besides the international work force from middle east, near and far east, Africa, Europe, US and Asia, contributing their specialized skills in their respective technical and professional fields.
Road Construction
Ever since its inception in 1965, SAJCO has distinguished itself as a major player in the field of executing numerous road projects ranging from main roads (Expressways, single and dual carriageways), feeder roads to bridges, underpasses, etc.
In recognition of its outstanding achievements, SAJCO has been entrusted with the construction of a considerable number of large road projects in different parts of the Country among which are :
A) Qaseem/Hail Expressway with a total value of SR 385 millions (US$ 102.7million), 6 lane dual carriage, 155 km long, 28m width (14m on each direction, 5 meters median includes 23 bridges and intersections). The projects connects two major regions of the Country and
B) The North-West Leg of Riyadh Ring Road, the total value is SR 812 million (US$216.5million) , 13 kilometers of dual carriageway with service roads, central median and site separators. The Project includes 7 interchanges and three major Concrete Wadi bridges ( 440m , 610m , 1030m long ), the span of each is approximately 42.5 meters cc of columns. This includes 738 girders each 40 meters long weighing 135 tons. Girder Launching Machines technology is used in this project. Piers extend up to 92 meters height above wadi level.
Road Maintenance
Thanks to its incorporated extensive human and equipment resources which have enabled SAJCO to undertake an integrated range of activities including maintenance of roads throughout the Kingdom. Due to its hi-tech equipment, well trained staff with compete know-how and proven track record, Company is regarded as one of the most prestigious road maintenance companies in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Gulf Region. In executing its maintenance projects SAJCO has committed itself to the same high quality performances in compliance with work schedules, safety and environmental provisions and to the full satisfaction of the client.
Due to excellent performance and confidence that SAJCO has acquired over the past years, the Company has been entrusted by the Saudi Government with the maintenance (ordinary & preventive) of roads, bridges, interchanges and underpasses in five of the most important, highly populated and vital regions of Saudi Arabia.
Production Of Road Construction Materials
Maintaining its reputation as one of the market leaders in the arena of road construction and maintenance over the past four decades has had several implications for SAJCO. The Company has had to ensure demands at all stages of construction process. This has not only meant utilizing materials of the highest quality, but also entitled seeking a steady and reliable chain of supply. In order to fulfill these significant demands, SAJCO took the initiative to internalize the production of a variety of road materials. The Company now owns 16 rock crushing plants, 12 asphalt mixing plants and 10 concrete batch plants in strategic locations within the Area.
This enables the Company to produce aggregates with different sizes and qualities, hot asphalt mixes that conform to the latest international standards. The tremendous level of production at these facilities enables SAJCO to provide such materials to external customers, enhancing its position of being one of the largest construction companies in the region.
Ready Mix Concrete And Cement Products
The past Forty years have witnessed SAJCO evolving into a company renowned for providing the most comprehensive range of services in the field of construction. SAJCO’s ability of producing its own materials inspired the decision to construct its own ready mix concrete and cement product factories in Al-Madina Al-Monawara and other regions of Saudi Arabia.
In fact, the vast range of orders for products such as New Jersey barriers, curb stones, concrete hollow blocks and side walk tiles has implied that the Company’s state of the art factories work at full capacity to comply with demand.
