Road Engineering Association of Asia & Australasia

Membership of REAAA

Membership is open to persons or organizations interested in the science and practice of road engineering and related activities. In the New Zealand Chapter membership is available on an individual, corporate or institutional level.

Objectives

  • To promote and advance the science and practice of road engineering and related professions.
  • To encourage communication between persons charged with the technical responsibility for the planning, design, construction and maintenance of roads and allied structures.
  • To obtain and diffuse among the members, information on road engineering and related matters affecting the profession, and to print, sell, publish, issue and circulate the records of transactions of the Association or any papers, periodicals, books, circulars and other literary undertakings or any extracts there from as may seem conducive to any of these objects.
  • To educate and seek to improve, extend and elevate the technical and general knowledge of members and persons concerned with road engineering.
  • To serve as a focal point for exchange of ideas related to road engineering.
  • To conduct, encourage and collate research in road engineering.
  • To establish, form and maintain an index of available or existing literature and articles of interest in connection with road engineering.
  • To co-operate, as may seem conducive to any of these objects, with national and international organizations and to support and supplement their work.

In pursuing these objectives, REAAA is dedicated to:

  • Facilitating intra-regional transfer of technology.
  • Cooperating with national and international organizations to support and supplement their work.
  • Providing a catalyst for future developments and activities.
  • Establishing better inter-functional links between people involved in planning, designing, constructing, technology, manufacturing and various other services and trades associated with road engineering.
  • Being a regional focal point permitting the cross fertilization of ideas thus creating better understanding amongst member countries.
  • Being a regional information service center.
