Confederation of Organisations in Road Transport Enforcement (CORTE) was established in 2004 with the aim to bring together national bodies from various European countries having a responsibility and interest in the field of road transport.

Our members are representatives of national enforcement agencies, the police, government transport departments, non-government organisations active in the field of road transport and industrial partners.

CORTE is a member-based organization composed of the following levels:

  • the Annual General Assembly
  • the Board of Directors
  • the Brussels-based Secretariat led by the Managing Director

The Annual General Assembly is the highest decision-making body composed of all the Members.

The Board of Directors is entrusted with the political and strategic leadership of the Association. It has the responsibility of managing the Association, thus sets targets, elaborates general strategy, implements the Association’s policies and determines the results that are necessary for this.The Board of Directors is composed of at most fourteen persons coming from the Full Membership and consists of the Chairman and at most thirteen Directors with specific portfolios.

The Board of Directors is supported by the Brussels-based Secretariat which is led by a Managing Director and implements all decisions and ensures liaison between the association and the European and international institutions as well as with the other stakeholders in Brussels and anywhere else.
