WisDOT plans, promotes and financially supports statewide air, rail and water transportation, as well as bicycle and pedestrian facilities.
The department works closely with other state, federal and local agencies to meet changing and growing travel needs. Transportation impacts everyone and WisDOT is committed to providing the safest, most efficient and highest quality transportation services to best serve the needs of the state, its citizens and many visitors.
The department is made up of three executive offices and five divisions organized according to transportation function. WisDOT's main office is located in Madison, but the department maintains regional offices throughout the state as a way to preserve the local approach to transportation development and better serve customer needs

North Carolina DOT
The N.C. Department of Transportation is one of North Carolina’s largest state government agencies, with more than 14,000 employees. NCDOT works hard to provide high-quality transportation for travelers throughout North Carolina, including highways, rail, aviation, ferries, bicycle and pedestrian facilities, and public transit.
The N.C. Department of Transportation dates back to the establishment of the State Highway Commission in 1915. In 1941, the North Carolina General Assembly created the Department of Motor Vehicles, consolidating services previously provided by the Secretary of State and the Department of Revenue.
The Executive Organization Act of 1971 then combined the State Highway Commission and the Department of Motor Vehicles to form the N.C. Department of Transportation and Highway Safety. In 1979, "Highway Safety" was dropped from the department's name when the Highway Patrol Division was transferred to the newly created Department of Crime Control and Public Safety.
Today, NCDOT employs more than 14,000 people who oversee all modes of transportation in North Carolina, including highways, rail, aviation, ferries, public transit, and bicycle and pedestrian transportation. The department also oversees North Carolina’s Division of Motor Vehicles.
NCDOT’s operations are led by the Secretary of Transportation, a member of the governor’s cabinet. A 19-member Board of Transportation is the department’s governing body and is responsible for assisting in the transportation decision-making process and approving fund allocation. Board members are appointed by the governor.

New Mexico DOT
Vision
The New Mexico Department of Transportation is an international leader. We are inventors and providers of a transportation system that serves everyone.
Guiding Principles and Goals
Our Guiding Principles integrate and advance the business practices of the New Mexico Department of Transportation. These principles support the direction of Governor Bill Richardson, and they represent a fundamental change in our Department. While the specific language for each principle will be refined over time, we will be consistent in our commitment to these seven principles.
Multimodal Transportation
We are committed to the principle of a multimodal transportation system. We are committed to developing accessible, connected and sustainable multimodal opportunities for all citizens, which allow travel choices making the most efficient use of the State's transportation infrastructure. The Department will combine multimodal infrastructure development with current infrastructure preservation in a manner that best serves the mobility of residents, guests and commerce.
Partnership with Tribal Governments
We are committed to the principle of partnership with tribal governments. Our Department recognizes, respects and supports the unique sovereign status of the tribes and pueblos in New Mexico. We will be a national leader in developing government-to-governments relations on all matters of transportation in a consultative manner that is respectful of each tribe's culture and traditions.
Partnership with Local Governments
We are committed to the principle of partnership with local governments. Our Department appreciates the vital role of local government decision-making and delivery of transportation services that improve transportation in our cities, counties and throughout New Mexico. By working together, we can attract additional funds and further improve mobility and connectivity for the people we serve.
Environmental Responsibility
We are committed to the principle of an environmentally responsible transportation system. Our Department prepared the "Commitment to Environmental and Energy Action," to support thoughtful stewardship of the environment and development of alternative energy sources for this and future generations. For our actions to be successful, we will seek the guidance and involvement of similarly committed non-governmental organizations representing our diverse population, and the broad-based support of the people of New Mexico. We will work together to realize the funding required for New Mexico to serve as a national example of environmentally responsible and accountable transportation.-
Safety and Security
We are committed to the principle of safe and secure transportation. We need to invest in transportation that is safe and secure. Transportation has a critical role in homeland security. We must attract funding to address challenging security issues related to the efficient movement of goods and people, while also ensuring the security of our international border. This effort will build from and expand upon our Department's current safety and security partnerships.
Efficient Use of Public Resources
We are committed to the principle of efficient and effective use of public resources provided by the people to improve transportation in New Mexico. Our Department will optimize the amount of resources that go to transportation facilities and services. Our Department will compete for all applicable federal, discretionary programs in order to maximize the funds available to meet New Mexico's transportation needs. We will explore all opportunities for public/private partnerships in providing transportation services and facilities, and we will assess these opportunities based on our principles. Our Department will study alternatives to existing fuel taxes as long-term sources of revenue, to help ensure stable program financing as transportation technologies change. Our Department will coordinate with other agencies and governments to optimize the resources available to meet the transportation needs of New Mexico and our Nation.
Economic Vitality
We are committed to the principle of transportation supporting the economic vitality of New Mexico and our Nation. Transportation investment is important for the economic growth of our State, improving movement of goods and services within New Mexico, and attracting visitors and major investment. New Mexico is also a bridge state, connecting our Nation. A significant portion of our Nation's economy moves over our roads and rail. New Mexico is critical to freight movement across America today, and our role increases with every increase in freight movement. New Mexico requires increased infrastructure investment. We will work with organizations committed to making sure transportation resources fully support the key role of New Mexico in our Nation's economy.
These Guiding Principles help integrate our Department's diverse activities. Each principle is important. Together, they are the business principles of our Department.
The principles are dynamic. We will refine and implement them. As Cabinet Secretary, I can make one guarantee about our Department. We will listen first, and then we will act together.

Nevada DOT
NDOT was established in 1917 under the name of the Nevada Department of Highways. Until 1917, the state did not participate in any road improvements. The 1917 Legislature gave the state engineer general supervision of road work which was performed by convict labor. An appropriation of $20,000 was made, but the funds were quickly exhausted and all work ceased later that same year.
When the 1917 Legislature passed the State Highway Law, Nevada began an active roadway program, which has grown to more than $500,000,000/per year of capital outlays to maintain and improve Nevada's highways.
The mission of the Nevada Department of Transportation is to provide a better transportation system for Nevada through unified and dedicated efforts.
The department is responsible for the planning, construction, operation and maintenance of the 5,400 miles of highway and over 1,000 bridges which make up the state highway system. The department is divided into three districts, with a district engineer and assistant engineers in each. The districts are responsible for supervising all state transportation activities within their local areas. NDOT's headquarters building is located in Carson City, with the three main district offices located in Las Vegas, Reno and Elko. Major maintenance stations are in Ely, Tonopah and Winnemucca. NDOT is overseen by a seven-member Board of Directors and directed by Senior Staff.
Transportation no longer means highways alone, but rather an integration of travel by rail, bike, air or bus. The department also oversees various allied projects from the Adopt-a-Highway program to the maintenance of State Historical Markers.

Iowa DOT
On April 13, 1904, the 30th General Assembly and Governor A.B. Cummins approved House File 371, an act that created the Iowa State Highway Commission (IHC). The commission was originally established as part of the Iowa State College of Agriculture and Mechanic Arts (today the Iowa State University of Science and Technology) in Ames.
The commission’s principal duties were to provide information and act as an administrative advisory agent to the local jurisdictions. Although severely handicapped by a biennial appropriation of $7,000, the commission was to conduct public highway demonstrations, disseminate information to county supervisors, formulate standards for highway repair and construction, investigate the road problems of Iowa, and record and report progress to the governor each fiscal year.
The work was assigned to the divisions of Agriculture and Engineering, directed by C.F. Curtiss and Anson Marston, respectively. Other staff members included Thomas MacDonald, H.M. Bainer, and J.T. Hoover.
While productive, the commission remained hindered by the lack of funds and necessary specialized skills. The commission needed additional funds to carry on “extensive laboratory tests of properties of Iowa road materials, and to build sections of experimental roads, to give actual working tests of material and methods of construction suited to Iowa’s special needs.” Other initiatives included testing and designing concrete culverts and bridges, compiling and publishing road census information, and extending county investigations for road maps.
To alleviate the problems inherent in the “disproportionate” relationship between results and expenditures, the commission invested in conducting a road school in June 1905. Split between discussion and demonstration, students received instruction on culvert construction and road machinery, and tools of highway engineers, and listened to lectures by experienced engineers.
On April 9, 1913, the IHC separated from the Iowa State College, becoming an independent state-administered organization, managed by a three-member commission, comprised of Anson Marston, H.C. Beard and J.W. Holden.
Immediately, in conjunction with the Department of Justice, the newly organized IHC attempted to resolve many detrimental business practices that undermined the needs of the state. First, the IHC noticed that the state was divided into districts by monopolistic supply and bridge companies, allowing unregulated price gouging and limited oversight. To adequately tackle such tremendous responsibilities, the IHC increased its personnel and re-organized itself into four departments, namely the Office, Designing, Field, and Educational. The commission also was given supervisory control over all county and township road officials, although county supervisors and trustees remained directly in charge of road management and allotted funds.
The IHC continued to operate for 62 years, adapting to the changing needs of the state and making significant contributions to modern highway engineering and construction. Ultimately, it slowly became an integral part of state and federal legislative initiatives, gaining a national reputation for excellence.
By the late 1960s, it was clear that the existing transportation networks were in need of transformation. In 1969, Governor Robert Ray responded by initiating a transportation study by the Office of Planning and Programming. Over the next couple of years, the Task Force on Modernization of Iowa’s Transportation System, in conjunction with a Department of Transportation Study Committee, formed the legislative backbone of for Governor Ray’s transportation initiatives.
In 1974, the 65th Iowa General Assembly created the Iowa Department of Transportation (Iowa DOT), albeit through a long legislative process. It placed other modal agencies, including an Aeronautics Commission, under the department’s responsibility to promote more orderly and effective planning and funding of programs, and to achieve a more balanced transportation system.
In 1974, the legislature also created the Iowa Transportation Commission, consisting of seven members. Members are appointed by the governor and subject to Senate confirmation. No more than four persons can represent the same political party. Serving four-year terms, members are responsible for periodically reviewing programs of the department and making all major investment policy decisions.
For more than a century, the IHC and Iowa DOT have promoted the growth and betterment of Iowa’s transportation system. Still headquartered in Ames, the agency continues to serve the transportation needs of Iowa and its citizens.
The Iowa Department of Transportation and Iowa Transportation Commission, who remain headquartered in Ames, continue to serve the citizens of Iowa today.

Idaho DOT
Why is transportation important to Idaho?
The state transportation system is inextricably woven into the fabric of Idaho life. The state's citizens use Idaho's transportation system to get to work, school, friends and recreation.
They also rely on that system to bring goods to their stores, services to their doorstep, and to make sure the state's goods and services are delivered to the customers of the nation and the world. From the food they eat, to the letters they read, to the movies they drive to, Idahoans are empowered by transportation in complex and substantial ways. Idaho's leaders and transportation officials understand the essential role transportation plays as a cornerstone for the state's economic and social health. The transportation department's mandate is to provide the people of Idaho with a transportation system that includes various means of travel.
Highways are a driving force in state's economy
Idaho's transportation system is the backbone of the state's economy. Safe and efficient roads, bridges, airports, railroads and ports promote the expansion of Idaho's economy. The cost of doing business is affected by how well goods and people can be moved across town, across the country and around the world. Thus, Idaho's economic performance is tied to the quality of our transportation system.
Air travel provides a vital economic link
The aviation industry provides jobs either directly or indirectly through the state's airports or tourism from the money that visitors bring into the state. Together, this generates $1.3 billion in aviation-related economic impact to Idaho and provides more than 24,000 jobs. Another nearly 27,000 jobs in the state are in some way dependent upon aviation. Idaho's airports also help protect lives and property in the state by providing a base for fire fighting activities.

Colorado DOT
The Colorado Department of Transportation is responsible for a 9,161 mile highway system, including 3,775 bridges. Each year, this system handles over 28.6 billion vehicle miles of travel. Although the Interstate system accounts for only about 10 percent (915 miles) of the total mileage on the state system, 40 percent of all travel takes place on our Interstate highways. CDOT's highway construction program attracts private contractors and the low bidder is awarded the project and in turn is responsible for construction of that project. This partnership between government (CDOT) and business works well as we improve and expand our transportation system.
CDOT maintenance forces take care of the highway system, plowing snow and repairing pavement. Last winter, these men and women plowed 7.1 million miles of highway. They also repaired road damage and potholes, using more than 270,947 tons of asphalt and 196,646 gallons of liquid asphalt in preservation activities. But CDOT is more than roads and bridges. The Division of Aeronautics supports aviation interests statewide, including grants to help improve local airports. CDOT's Transit Unit provides assistance to numerous transit systems in the state. And the Office of Transportation Safety helps local law enforcement agencies with special funds to apprehend drunk drivers and increase use of safety belts.
CDOT's Vision: To enhance the quality of life and the environment of the citizens of Colorado by creating an integrated transportation system that focuses on moving people and goods by offering convenient linkages among modal choices.
CDOT's Mission: To provide the best multi-modal transportation system for Colorado that most effectively moves people, goods, and information.

California DOT
Caltrans manages more than 45,000 miles of California's highway and freeway lanes, provides inter-city rail services, permits more than 400 public-use airports and special-use hospital heliports, and works with local agencies. Caltrans carries out its mission of improving mobility across California with six primary programs: Aeronautics, Highway Transportation, Mass Transportation, Transportation Planning, Administration and the Equipment Service Center.
The department has been active in moving the people and commerce of California for more than 100 years from a loosely connected web of footpaths and rutted wagon routes to the sophisticated system that today serves the transportation needs of more than 30 million residents.
By the early 1850s, the state's miners and merchants had succeeded in weaving a dusty network of supply roads that bogged down into near impassability during the winter rains. However, by the turn of the century, California became one of the first states to name a Bureau of Highways Commission: R.C. Irvine of Sacramento, Marsden Manson of San Francisco and J.L. Maude of Riverside.
Meeting for the first time on April 11, 1895, in Sacramento, the three men began the first few steps in a buckboard journey that would take them over some 16,500 miles of roadways. A year and a half later, the three men recommended a 14,000-mile network that would become the basis for today's State Highway System.
That system was scaled down in 1916 to a network of 5560 miles. However, it included two of California's best-known routes, U.S. Routes 99 and 101, for many years the major north-south axes of California.
From the beginning, the commissioners worked from a simple philosophy: "The state highways should be the great arteries of a road system from which should branch out the minor highways serving counties and districts." It should link "the great belts of timber, fruit, agricultural and mineral wealth" to the state's population centers and county seats.
As a result, the Legislature in 1895 purchased the Lake Tahoe Wagon Toll Road as the first state highway. The route is known today as Highway 50 and slices through the Sierra Nevada from Sacramento to Placerville and South Lake Tahoe before descending into Nevada.
The state's first highway improvement bond act came in 1909 when the Legislature provided $18 million to build the State Highway System. However, money soon ran out, and the state reached an agreement in which counties would provide right-of-way and build bridges while the state would construct roads. In another cost-saving measure, the state used convict laborers to build roads, a practice that continued until the 1970s.
A second bond act passed in 1919, in part due to lobbying from the automobile clubs that wanted better roads for the growing number of vehicles traversing the state. However, by 1923 the State Legislature began to realize that transportation required a more-secure revenue source. The answer was a fuel tax in which leisure and commercial travelers paid a significant portion of the cost of building the highways they used.
Following World War I, gasoline taxes began to provide stable funds for highway construction, operation and maintenance. And the growing number of state highway departments united to form the American Association of State Highway Officials, which worked to establish national design standards across the country.
During the 1920s the Yolo Causeway and Carquinez Straits Bridge opened a direct route from Sacramento through the Delta and into the Bay Area. Until then, ground transportation was through Stockton and over the Altamont Pass. Agriculture was shipped down the Sacramento River.
The seeds of the farm-to-market road system were planted in the early 1930s when the U.S. Bureau of Public Roads called on America to "get the farmer out of the mud," a slogan that led to a greatly improved and expanded system of paved rural roads. Another important milestone of the 1930s was the completion of State Route 1, the Pacific Coast Highway.
The 1940s saw the birth of the "freeway era" with completion in 1940 of the Arroyo Seco Freeway, among the first in the nation. California's freeway- and expressway-building sped up in the 1947 with passage of the Collier-Burns Act, which laid the basis for the state's current freeway-expressway system. Within seven years President Dwight D. Eisenhower proposed the National System of Interstate And Defense Highways.
The 1950s and 1960s also were a time of technological innovation. The second Carquinez Bridge used high-strength steels and hybrid welding, and interstate freeways were cut through areas that once were believed to be virtually impassable: the Sacramento River and Truckee River canyons. And the Sacramento "boat section," a portion of Interstate 5, was built below ground water level and "anchored" by pilings and 15-foot-thick concrete.
The awarding of the 1960 Winter Olympics to Squaw Valley added impetus to building Interstate 80, the first all-weather, trans-Sierra Nevada highway. The divided highway roughly parallels the transcontinental railroad, built in 1869, and passes by the last site of the ill-fated Donner Party of 1846.
In the wake of the frenetic 1960s, the 1970s were a time of austerity. The then-current political philosophy urged alternatives to highway building, a trend that would continue into the 1980s. Such thinking led to a new name for the department, Caltrans, short for the California Department of Transportation. The name change was emblematic of new thinking, and a rise in the concept that while highways have long been vital to the state, other forms of transportation were emerging to complement roadways.
The 1990s saw fruition of ideas that had been conceived 15 to 20 years earlier. In recognition that California could not merely build its way out of traffic congestion and air pollution, Caltrans began to emphasize the more-efficient use of highways and their integration with other "modes" of transportation. Public sentiment became more receptive to rail and transit, car pooling, ramp metering, telecommuting flexible work hours, and research into intelligent vehicle and highway systems.
And in the last few years, the Northridge and Loma Prieta earthquakes have focused attention on the need to strengthen state highway bridges against the immense power of seismic forces.
In short, Caltrans' development reflects the changes of American society for more than a century. From a rural society dominated by Euro-American pioneers who exploited the state's vast natural resources to a technologically, global- and service-oriented economy, California has grown prosperous.

Arizona DOT
The Arizona Department of Transportation has a compelling mission – that of providing mobility to Arizona’s residents and visitors, while promoting economic prosperity through its linkage to the global economy, and demonstrating respect for the environment and quality of life. The safe, efficient and cost-effective movement of people and products throughout our State is contingent on performing our jobs both prudently and well.
Our charge is to fulfill this mission in a manner that ensures the highest public value to our stakeholders – those who pay the taxes and fees that we use to accomplish this mission. This provides focus to our efforts.
Our vision is where we want the organization to be in the future. It acts as a beacon in guiding agency actions. Our mission is our reason for existence, and constitutes the “performance agreement” with our stakeholders. It defines what we need to do for them in exchange for the taxes and fees which we use to achieve our mission.
Our values are the principles and philosophies which describe how we will conduct ourselves in order to accomplish our mission and move toward our vision. These are the guideposts that test the rightness of our direction. The priorities define where we must focus in the short term, and our goals are those specific items we are focusing on in order to achieve our mission and move closer to our vision.
We further have identified specific strategic issues on which we need to focus in order to be successful. These issues constitute our strategic direction – something we must all know and with which we must all align. The strategic issues drive all Agency operations and define “what” we are to do. Everyone throughout the Agency actively participates by developing objectives, strategies, work plans, budgets and performance measures in order to determine “how” the plan is to be implemented, aligning with this strategic direction. These plans are subsequently reviewed by executive management for congruence in the alignment phase of our strategic implementation.
Once we achieve this performance agreement, we all know what we need to do to implement and monitor the plan. We analyze results and make course corrections as necessary to steer the Agency toward our vision. This provides accountability to each other and to the public we serve.

Wyco Tool Company
In 1921 Andrew Wyzenbeek organized a group of engineers to form the Wyzenbeek & Staff Company, and by 1929 his company was fully dedicated to the production of flexible shaft machines and power tools for the industrial market. The flexible shaft with offset bearings was an innovative concept, and Wysenbeek utilized this principle in a number of products, from fish scalers to concrete vibrators.
Wyzenbeek began the production of gas-powered vibrators in 1941.
In 1962, Wyco, as the company became known, received a patent on its Square HeadTM vibrator design, the patent awarded for consolidation efficiency. The concept was further supported by conclusions of the IIT Research Institute (IITRI) of Chicago.
In 1970, Wyco introduced the world's first hydraulic concrete vibrator for use on concrete paving equipment.
In 1971, Wyco was purchased by Racine Federated Inc., a private manufacturing company under the leadership of John Erskine Sr.
With the introduction of its high cycle vibrator in 1975 and its pneumatic vibrator in 1977, Wyco developed a core family of internal concrete vibration products that continues to this day.
The first portable gas vibrator was unveiled in 1981, and in 1986 Wyco introduced the first UL/CSA approved concrete vibrator, the first of its kind to meet OSHA standards.
In 1994 the hydraulic concrete vibrator was dynamically redesigned to meet changing mix standards for the pavement industry. Wyco worked closely with specifying agencies to develop placement standards ultimately adopted for highway and runway construction. Wyco also introduced the smart vibrator system, a PC application for continuous vibrator monitoring on hydraulic pavers.
In 2004, Wyco introduced the first full-powered adjustable speed high cycle vibrator capable of meeting all placement requirements for bridge construction.
Today, Wyco continues to monitor mix and material compatibilities in the concrete industry, and the dynamics of placement by vibration. Wyco's people are proud of the company's long history, and they are excited to continue the company's tradition of innovation, for their industry and for their customers.

Texas Transportation Institute (TTI)
It's why we go to work every day.
- Saving lives
- Solving problems
- Building careers
- Getting ahead of tomorrow's challenges, today
These simple statements give a glimpse of the uncluttered commitment and determination we hold at the Texas Transportation Institute. Our job is to save lives and solve problems by letting talented transportation engineers and researchers do what they do best every day. We encourage students to thrive in transportation careers to ensure that tomorrow's roads are the safest, smoothest, roads ever built.
But it's not just roads. TTI researchers study virtually every aspect of transportation.
TTI's program of practical, applied research helps hundreds of sponsors address a range of transportation challenges. For example, through decades of research in just the highway area—planning, design, construction, maintenance, safety and operations—virtually every mile of roadway in Texas has been positively impacted by some aspect of the TTI program. Through research, development and technology transfer, TTI is helping to meet the transportation needs of tomorrow.
Our mission is to solve transportation problems through research, to transfer technology, and to develop diverse human resources to meet the transportation challenges of tomorrow.

Advanced Drivers of America, INC
The aim of Advanced Drivers of America, Inc., is to highlight the massive benefits of enhanced driving standards and, importantly, to reinforce people's enjoyment of driving.
We encourage all drivers to improve their skills and safety through genuine advanced driver training.
The courses and qualifications we offer will always be of equal standard to the best-available, public-road driver training in the world, and in terms of reducing the risk of crash involvement will dramatically outweigh the many inferior yet so-called advanced driving courses that are currently available in North America (in other words, courses that do not meet the standards outlined in the definition of advanced driving that is viewable here). Our confidence in this claim is based on the fact that the "System of Car Control" method has been continually refined for more than 70 years (i.e. since 1935) by and for the traffic police in Britain, whose reputation as world leaders in safe road driving is indisputable.
It is our objective to provide authoritative advice, definitive standards and the highest levels of driver training and assessment. The overriding goal is to maximize safety for all participating drivers, for public roads in North America. This will be achieved by following global best practice, by virtue of our own, long-term expertise in this field, and by developing strong relationships with all appropriate bodies

CIDAUT
CIDAUT (Research and Development Center in Transport & Energy), was created in 1993, with the objective of coordinating and channeling the research potential of the University of Valladolid, as well as actively contributing to the needs of companies in the automotive sector, thus enhancing both their competitiveness and industrial development.
From the Technological Park in Boecillo (Valladolid), CIDAUT foments the use of technology, design and the manufacture of new products, as well as creating advanced programs for improving the industrial process as a whole.
To reach their objective, CIDAUT has developed an innovative work plan which involves the meticulous development of each and every stage of product development from the conception of a new idea, selection and analysis of materials, simulation activities, processing, prototype design and pre-industrialization tasks, to the final validation of the product.
CIDAUT has a special link with the University of Valladolid as well. This link consists of a close collaboration in the design and initiation of the lines of technological research in the Center. The University furnishes personnel for the development of technological investigative lines, who participate actively in CIDAUT projects. This contribution of qualified expert research workers to the development of activities in the different lines of R+D+i in CIDAUT affords a competitive edge and contributes to the level of confidence consolidation with our partners and industrial clients.
On 1st January 2000, CIDAUT became a R+D+i Foundation with thirteen industrial partners. This change has increased the activities of R+D+i remarkably. The results of these activities are considered as a point of reference in the Science-Technology-Business system.
CIDAUT is composed of four buildings and a laboratory test track for carrying out road barrier tests in Mojados (a short distance from the main installations in the Boecillo Science Park) with a constructed surface area of 14,500 m2 and an investment in equipment close to 26 million euros.
The principal objective of the Foundation is to nurture the competitiveness and the industrial development of the companies in the automotive sector, thus enabling them to develop new products and processes. In order to realize this objective, the Foundation promotes scientific investigation, technological development and innovation applicable to industry in general and to the transport and energy sectors in particular.
The working plan revolves around three fundamental activities: Investigation and Technological Development, Technological Services and Specialized Training. The R+D+i section is divided into the areas of Transport Safety, Product-Process-Materials; and Energy and Environment.
